Bonding Healthcare and biotechniology

Synkotech Biocompatible Materials is a leading developer of medical

Our team of experienced scientists and engineers is dedicated to developing innovative medical devices, biomaterials and adhesives that improve patient care.

We aim to simplify and democratize health care, lowering cost and enabling new technology and procedures to bring medical adhesive to reach new levels.

We focus on the use of malonates for a variety of applications, including:

SKIN PROTECTANTS

We have developed a range of new skin protectants against damaged skin

Our technology and fine-tuning formulation lead to a unique product with superior properties, such as increased breathability, reduced moisture loss, and improved barrier function.

The R&D department has developed the formulation and the devices of all the skin protectants, as well as performed different comparison tests with market leaders.

Products are currently approved as class 1 and class 1S medical devices.

EXTERNAL MEDICAL ADHESIVES

Medical adhesives have been extensively used to substitute thread and staples for closing open wounds.

Cyanoacrylates have been market leaders due to their high mechanical properties, but their toxicity has led to a large number of cases of dermatitis in patients.

Synkotech has developed a range of external medical adhesives that have superior mechanical properties to cyanoacrylate, equal strength but are more flexible, and present no cytotoxicity, which overcomes the main drawbacks of cyanoacrylates.

In this context, Synkotech envisages the use of these materials for chronic wounds, as is currently a complicated illness without a clear solution in the sector.

We are working on the development of multi-component adhesives for open chronic wounds that are designed to promote healing and reduce the risk of infection.

SYNTHESIS OF MONOMERS & BIOMATERIALS

Synkotech Biocompatible Materials has state-of-the-art technology for developing the synthesis and methodology of organic molecules, especially organic monomers and biomaterials.

We have a group of scientists with experience in top-leading research groups and companies that allows us to quickly develop synthesis, obtain reactive products, or develop new materials.

In this context, Synkotech has worked on different automation technologies for flow distillation of monomers and developed different polymerization strategies, either with heterogeneous catalysts or via photocatalysis, for the development of different biomaterials.
Some of the specific biomaterials that we have developed or are currently working on include:
  • • Biodegradable nanoparticles for drug delivery and tissue engineering
  • • Biocompatible polymers for medical devices
  • • Photopolymerization of acrylates

FINE FORMULATION

Synkotech has state-of-the-art technology, which combined with the large experience and knowledge, helps us to develop, in a short time, stable formulations for a variety of medical products.
Some of the specific types of medical products that we have developed formulations for include:
• Topical skin protectants
• External medical adhesives
• Internal medical adhesives
• Biodegradable materials

MEDICAL DEVICE TECHNOLOGY

Due to our experience in the development of new medical devices, we have developed a series of skills in developing handles and parts of medical devices.
Also, we have become experts in developing and testing new devices and packaging.
